Early Years

CC Puan was born in Jagoh, Johor to a family of 10 siblings and spent his childhood in a rubber estate in the backwaters of Kuantan, Pahang. His early days saw CC Puan growing up in a humble plantation household, experiencing running water and electricity for the first time only at 13.

CC Puan became the first in his family to be given the opportunity to attend college and study abroad. He graduated with a double degree in Business Administration and Management Information Systems and Finance from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, USA.

Green Packet

In year 1999, CC Puan invested in setting up a technology company with some partners in the Silicon Valley. It had a good one-year run as a new business in a time when technology assimilation was high and funding was plenty. After a year into business, came the dot.com bust. Green Packet came to a dead end where the then CEO decided to call it quits.

Not wanting to give up, CC Puan stepped in and took the CEO role and determined to sustain the employment of his hopeful and talented team. CC Puan maintained a small R&D team in the US and moved its headquarter and its entire operations back to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, forming Green Packet Berhad (GPB). This reduced operating cost substantially and allowed the company to refocus its business on the emerging markets of the Southeast Asian countries.

Green Packet was listed on the MESDAQ market of the Malaysian bourse within 5 years where the company’s market capitalization peaked to RM 2.7 billion. After 2 years being listed in the MESDAQ market, in 2007, Green Packet transitioned to the Main Market.

With operations in nine different countries; USA, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, China, Australia, Bahrain, Thailand and Hong Kong. Green Packet is a global leading supplier of 4G devices and connectivity solutions for Global telecommunication companies and operators.
