Punyasthree is a 1986 Telugu drama film produced by K. Benarjee on Pramoda Art Films banner and directed by Ravi Raja Pinisetty. Starring Rajendra Prasad, Karthik, Bhavya in the lead roles and music composed by Chakravarthy.[2] The film is a remake of Tamil film Aval Sumangalithan (1985).[3]

Plot

Babu Rao (Gollapudi Maruthi Rao), a watchman to a temple, even he is poor he leads a happy life with his wife Parvathi (Annapurna), daughter Lakshmi (Bhavya) & son Balu (Ali). Babu Rao looks for a bridegroom for Lakshmi where he comes regarding a civil engineer Bhaskar (Karthik) who along with a Christian family Peter (Rajendra Prasad) and his sister Stella (Samyutha). Bhaskar gets married to Lakshmi. All of them starts living very happily Bhaskar takes care as his father-in-law's family as his own. Suddenly a shocking incident Bhaskar comes to know he is suffering from the brain cancer and he will die soon. By when Lakshmi comes to know about this, she commits suicide and dies along with Bhaskar showing that the couple are immortal.
