Renier of St Laurent

Renier of St Laurent^[1] (died 1188) was a twelfth-century Benedictine monk of St Laurent Abbey, Liège. He known as a writer, of theological and exegetical works,^[2] controversial and historical works, and numerous biographical and hagiographical works.^[3] Works by him are in Patrologia Latina and Monumenta Germaniae Historica.

The Triumphale Bulonicum^[4] is a chronicle and commemorates the 1141 siege of the Château de Bouillon by Albéron II, the prince-bishop of Liège.^[5] It is based on eye-witness accounts.^[6]
