Riverside Girls was a three piece girl band. They were signed to Mercury Records in 1997. They released their first self-titled studio album in 1998. The band split up in 1999.

Career

Riverside Girls formed in 1997, Claire Sayer and Lisa Gatton lived in the same street and Rochelle Hatten's grandparents lived in that street so they grew up together. They were signed to Mercury Records in 1997 and started work on their first self-titled studio album. Recording started in July 1997. The first single 'Leave Right Now' was released during recording, it reached #33 on the UK chart. The album was released in April 1998. Two other songs were released from the album. The two othe singles were 'The High Road' and 'Like That', neither of them made it into the top 40. In June 1998 they were due to start working on a second album but Lisa left the band after feuding with Claire. The two remaining girls intended to continue the band, but they changed their mind and finished the band.

Solo careers

The only bandmate who has continued their music career is Rochelle Hatten who went on to appear in the drama series The valley cr3w along with her two cousins. Along with the series and its soundtrack, Hatten will also be releasing a solo album titled 'Magenta' in the summer of 2010
