Robert Joseph Andrew Dickie (born 3 March 1996) is an English professional footballer who plays for League Two side Cheltenham Town, on loan from Championship club Reading, as a defender. He has represented England at U19 level.
Career
Club
Reading
Dickie joined Reading F.C. as an Eight-year-old.[2] Dickie made his first loan move from Reading on 24 December 2014, joining Basingstoke Town until 25 April 2015.[3][4] He made twenty four appearances for Basingstoke and helped them to reach the Conference South Play-Offs. [5]
On 9 May 2016, Dickie was one of 15 Reading youth-team players offered a new contract by the club,[6] with conformation of his new deal being signed coming on 1 July 2016.[7]
Cheltenham Town loan
On 20 August 2015, Dickie joined Cheltenham Town on a one-month loan deal.[8] Dickie's loan deal was then extended on for an additional month on 23 September,[9] on 16 October,[10] and again on 10 December until the end of January.[11] During Cheltenham Town's 3-1 victory over Chelmsford City in the FA Trophy on 12 December, Dickie scored a Hat-trick.[12] Dickie returned to Reading on January to recover from an injury, before rejoining Cheltenham Town for there promotion push on 23 March.[13] helping them secure the title against Halifax Town on 16 April.[14]
On 25 August 2016. Dickie re-joined Cheltenham Town on loan until 2 January 2017.[15]
International
In March 2014, Dickie received his first call up to the England U18's for their match against Germany U18.[16] Dickie went on to be called up to the England U19's a year later.[17]
