Robert John Kirby (born November 25, 1952) is an American kinesiologist, psychotherapist and author. He is the creator of the psychotherapy institute in Australia called "Core Energetics Australia" and currently serves as its director. He is also credited with developing Core Energetics (a refinement of Bioenergetics) in its modern form. Kirby has also published two books "Filling Your Cup" and "Love and Intimacy in Relationships." He also has published articles in various magazines and publications. He runs many training and workshop programs in areas of health and healing. He is also the founder of the Core Energetics training school and Heart Energetics training school.[1][2][3][4][5]

Biography

Robert Kirby was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut on November 25, 1952. His father was a science teacher and so Robert developed a curiosity about religion, science, philosophy and the laws of the universe from a young age. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Sacred Heart University, Connecticut, USA. He did his masters in business administration from University of Bridgeport. He also has a Masters of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology & Psychosomatics Medicine from Bircham International University, Madrid Spain.[6]

Robert married Tanya Roesler in 2001 and was divorced in 2008. They have one child, Liam Wallace Kirby.[7][8][9]

Career

Kirby started his career in 1975 as a manager in the training and operations department of United Technologies Corporation. In between 1977 and 1989 he worked at Perkin-Elmer Corporation and General Motors Aerospace Division in several managerial roles.[10][11] In 1989, Kirby founded "Empowerment for Life", which was in 2010 renamed as "Core Energetics, Australia".[12][13][14]

Kirby has taken the work of the late John Pierrakos MD, Dr. Barbara De Angeles (Television Celebrity), Roger Callaghan (Founder of EFT), Valerie Hunt PhD (Author & researcher of the human energy field) and created his own form of Heart Energetics. His work has also been greatly influenced by Carl Jung (Renowned Psychologist), Bert Hellinger (Founder of Family Constellations), Wilhelm Reich (father of Body Psychotherapy) and Meister Eckhart (Mystic).[15]
