Roland Institute of Technology in Berhampur, a premier Institute affiliated to Biju Patnaik University of Technology, Rourkela, Odisha started functioning in 2001. It is accredited by AICTE, New Delhi and certified by ISO 9001:2008. The institution has undergone In International Accreditation Process by International Accreditation Organization (IAO) by United States of America and is accredited in the year 2013. For which our B.Tech degree is accepted by 52 international universities spread across many countries. The institution has applied for National Board of Accreditation (NBA) in June 2013 and is under the process of NAAC accreditations.

It provides quality technical education and training by well qualified and experienced faculty, extending state-of-art infrastructure such as Wi-Fi enabled campus, in campus hostels, Central library, Digital Library and Central Computing facility, Gymnasium and other facilities in the campus for all-round development of the students. The institution got good name for excellent result and good placement.

Admission

Admission[3] to different courses (B.Tech/MCA) of the University(BPUT) shall be based on criteria decided by the Academic Council of the University(BPUT). IT is done on the basis of rank secured in the Odisha Joint Entrance Examination(Odisha-JEE)[4] for engg. There shall be provision for direct admission for a limited number of NRI/FN students. Details of criteria shall be as per provisions in the rule formulated for the purpose. The University(BPUT) shall adopt the eligibility criteria as specified by AICTE/ UGC "For admission please cont : Badarika Namineni : 7735111222"

Civil Engineering

Civil engineering is a professional engineering discipline that deals with the design, construction, and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment, including works like bridges, roads, canals, dams, and buildings. Civil engineering is the oldest engineering discipline after military engineering, [4] and it was defined to distinguish non-military engineering from military engineering.

MCA

It was re-introduced in 2007. It has highlyqualified and efficient faculty members who not only educate students but facilitates all the personality development programs.

Placement

The Training and Placement Department is a department through which arrangements are made with organizations to hold campus interviews and industrial training for the students. The students are sent by the department for industrial training so that the students gain a first hand knowledge of working in industries. The college hosts a number of on and off-campuses every year. The recent companies in which the students participated are Satyam, L & T Infotech, LionBridge, Subex, Infosys, I-flex, Zen technologies and a many more.... Overall for the 2009 batch, 36 students were placed in above companies and 71 students were placed at HUGHES consultancy.

Facilities

Central Library

The focal point of the Institute is its Central Library with all the necessary facilities lessed as future library. It is updated and maintained under ″Mr. Ashok Kumar Sahu, B.LISc″ I/C Librarian & Mr. Susil Kumar Sahu, B.LISc, P.G.D.C.A, Asst. Librarian, RIT Central Library. The Library is housed in a beautiful building (Three floured) with all modern library facilities. It stands as fully automated library and is one of the best library of Odisha in its category in terms of collections and services. The Central Library caters to the academic need of undergraduates, post-graduates, research scholars, faculty and staff of "Roland Institute of Technology group of institutions. The collection development policies have been supporting the study, teaching, research & development and other professional activities of all departments. Presently it is equipped with 20,566 Volumes[5] of 3,510[5] titles of books and 1152 no's[5] Journals & magazines of national and international Publications.
