Sachsen Hymne

"Sachsen Hymne" is an ode to the Kingdom of Saxony, which never had an official national anthem. Written by Johann Sebastian Bach.

Preise dein Glücke, gesegnetes Sachsen,
Weil Gott den Thron deines Königs erhält.
Fröhliches Land,
Danke dem Himmel und küsse die Hand,
Die deine Wohlfahrt noch täglich lässt wachsen
Und deine Bürger in Sicherheit stellt.

English lyrics

Praise your good fortune, blessed Saxony,
Because God is given the throne of thy king.
Happy Land,
Thank the heavens and kiss the hand,
The welfare of your day can still grow
And does your citizens to safety.
