Saffron Henderson (born December 27, 1967) is a Canadian voice actress and singer and the daughter of Chilliwack lead vocalist Bill Henderson, who often works with Ocean Productions in numerous anime dubs. Henderson tends to be cast as mature and flirtatious women, young boys and teenage girls, as well women with accents.

She appeared in The Fly II and Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan. She played Veronica Quaife, taking over the Geena Davis role, and the rocker J.J. Jarret, whom Jason Voorhees used a guitar to kill.

Saffron has also provided backing vocals on several albums, including for ex Free/Bad Company vocalist Paul Rodgers' 1999 album Electric.

Early life and career

Henderson was born in Vancouver, British Columbia. She was raised Catholic. Born to a family of singers, Saffron started singing at the age of ten. Her first role as an actress was at the age of 19 in the short film Rainbow War, which was seen at Expo 1986 in Vancouver.

At the age of 22, she got the role of J.J. Jarret in Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan, where she is killed by Jason Voorhees with her own guitar. That same year, she starred in The Fly II, the sequel to the classic sci-fi horror, where she took over the role of Veronica Quaife, which was originally played by Geena Davis (she refused to reprise the role because her character had little screentime).

Because of her singing and acting, Henderson eventually found her way into voice acting. Her most famous roles in voice acting include Kid Goku and Kid Gohan in the Ocean Group dubs of Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z, Sota Higurashi and Eri in Inuyasha, Lucrezia Noin in Mobile Suit Gundam Wing and Shenhua in Black Lagoon.

Personal life

Henderson married American baseball player Chris Pritchett in 2001. Due to her wedding conflicts, she remained in the United States. Her roles in Dragon Ball Z and Inuyasha were taken by Jillian Michaels and Rebecca Shoichet.

She relocated back to Vancouver with Pritchett and her two sons. She has been diabetic since the age of eight.
