Salomon Juan Marcos Villarreal (born May 3, 1973) is a Mexican businessman in the textile and real estate industries.

Early life

Salomon Juan Marcos Villarreal is a member of the Juan Marcos family from Coahuila, Mexico, that generated several businessmen and politicians. He is son of Salomon Juan Marcos Issa and his wife Rocío Villarreal Asúnsolo. His family has been dedicated to the textile industry for three generations, starting in the 1950s with his grandfather Antonio Juan Marcos in La Laguna area in Coahuila, Mexico.[1]

Career

Grupo Denim

Currently he is president of the denim company: Grupo Denim (Denim Group) with operations in Mexico, the United States and Nicaragua using GD Maquiladora de Nicaragua as the holding company.[2][3] His company supports fashion brands.[4]

In 2010 he oversaw Grupo Denim's expansion into Nicaragua, with GD Maquiladora de Nicaragua serving as the subsidiary.[2]

The official opening of a new Grupo Denim facility in Nicaragua took place in February 2010. The facility was constructed for US$21 million and brought in 900 staff.[2] After the facility opened, Grupo Denim employed 7,000 people in seven facilities in the United States, Mexico, and Nicaragua. With 1.6 million garments produced monthly,[2] Grupo Denim had a production capacity of 400,000 units per week.[2] Future plans, according to Villarreal at the time, included doubling direct jobs and also developing a sewing plant.[2] As of February 2010, services included "laundry and finishing services, ironing and clothes packaging, with a specialized area for wet and dry processes and another for finishing."[2]

GD Holdings and Management

While maintaining his Grupo Denim positions,[2][3] Villarreal is also the owner and manager of GD Holdings and GD Management, both based in Denver, Colorado.[5] The two companies invest in luxury hotel and residential properties in the United States, including cities such as Nashville, Tennessee, Austin Texas,[5] and Denver, Colorado.[6]
