Maria Popescu[1][2] (born March 26, 1978), better known by her stage name Sandra Romain, is a Romanian pornographic actress.

Biography

Early life

Romain grew up in Vermeș, Caraș-Severin County, Romania.[3] She was raised Baptist.[4]

Career

Romain was working as a florist when her boss suggested she pose in nude magazines.[2] She was discovered by the Floyd Agency, an adult industry talent agency, while working for a tourist magazine in 2001.[1] In August 2005, she moved to the United States.[5] That same year, she signed with the agency LA Direct Models.[6] She took a four-year hiatus from performing and returned to the adult industry in 2011.[3]

Mainstream media appearances

On May 10, 2012, she appeared on Kanal D to discuss her adult film career.[2] That same year, she appeared in the music video for the song "Turbofin" by Grasu XXL.[7]

Personal life

Romain was married to pornographic actor Paul Popescu for 17 years.[1] They divorced on November 19, 2012.[8] She has a sister, Alice Romain, who is also a pornographic actress.[9]
