Student life

Santa Teresa High School is known for its award winning music program and extracurricular programs. These include Symphonic Band, Guitar Ensemble, Wind Ensemble, Percussion Ensembles, Jazz Bands, and Marching band. Along with a strong band, Santa Teresa or "ST" as it is commonly referred to has many clubs such as Key Club, International Relations Club (IRC),[4] California Scholarship Federation (CSF), and their award winning "MESA" engineering club.

Athletics

Santa Teresa's best athlete was probably Keri Sanchez. In her career she won 10 CIF Central Coast Section titles in track and field and was the San Jose Mercury News soccer player of the year in 1991. She went on to play professionally for the Los Angeles Sol and on the US National Soccer team. Several football players made it to the NFL including Rich Campbell, Joe Nedney and Craig Whelihan. The most successful season for the team was 1987, when they lost to Live Oak High School in the CCS Championship final. Girls Soccer teams won the CCS title in 2001 and 2002. Kristen Dowell (1985) and Craig Magness (1990) both won the 800 meters title at the CIF California State Meet.[3]
