Sarah Elizabeth Kothlow (née, Reeves; born April 29, 1989) is an American Christian musician, who primarily plays a Christian pop and worship style of music. She has released three extended plays, two of those with Sparrow Records, and two independently-released studio albums and one extended play.

Early and personal life

Reeves was born, Sarah Elizabeth Reeves,[1] on April 29, 1989,[2][3] in Athens, Alabama,[4][5] the daughter of John Mark "Hershey" Reeves,[6][7] and Tina Key Reeves,[8][9] while she has two younger sisters, where one of her younger sisters, Mary Reeves,[10][11] is in a band, Only in Stories,[12] and, an older brother, Benjamin "Ben" Reeves.[13][14] Her father is a music producer and songwriter,[15] also known as Hershey Reeves,[7][15] who helped to establish Sound Cell Studios, in Huntsville, Alabama, where she recorded an album.[16] Reeves was given the call from God to become a worship leader, at 15 years-old.[17] She is married to Philip Kothlow,[18] where they reside in Nashville, Tennessee together.[19]

Music career

Reeves' music career started in 2006,[4] with her first major-label release, Sweet Sweet Sound, an extended play, that was released on April 21, 2009, from Sparrow Records.[20][21][22][23] This extended play was her breakthrough release upon the Billboard magazine charts, where it placed on the Christian Albums at No. 19 and the Heatseekers Albums at No. 8.[24] The song, "Sweet Sweet Sound", peaked at No. 27 on the Christian Songs chart,[25] while it peaked at No. 24 on the Christian AC Songs chart.[26] Her subsequent extended play, God of the Impossible, was released on April 20, 2010, with Sparrow Records.[27][28] The first studio album, Broken Things, was released on July 26, 2011.[29][30] She released, Christmas, a independently-made extended play, in 2013.[31] Her second studio album, Acoustic Worship Covers, was released on March 24,[32] 2014.[31]
