Scaphiophis is a genus of African snakes. Common names include hook-nosed snakes^[1] and shovel-nosed snakes.

Two species are recognized as being valid.^[2]

• Scaphiophis raffreyi Bocourt, 1875

Etymology

The specific name, raffreyi, is in honor of French scientific collector Achille Raffray.^[1]
