Shadow Secretary of State for Scotland
The Shadow Secretary of State for Scotland is a member of the UK Shadow Cabinet responsible for the scrutiny of the Secretary of State for Scotland and his/her department, the Scotland Office. The most recent incumbent was Ian Murray (the last remaining Labour MP in Scotland). On 26 June 2016 he resigned in the wake of the European Union membership referendum.[1] The holder is assisted by shadow ministers in the Commons and in the Lords.
