Shaquille Alphonso "Shaq" McDonald (born 19 July 1995) is an English professional footballer who plays as a striker for Nuneaton Town, joining the full-time Conference North side on 10th May 2016..

Career

Born in Birmingham, West Midlands,[2] McDonald was with Birmingham City's youth system from 2011 to 2012.[3]

He was also a part of Chasetown's youth in 2012.[4]

A former player for Peterborugh United McDonald signed a four-year contract with the club in 2013.[5] In September 2013, McDonald joined Chester on-loan until January 2014.[6] On his Chester debut a day later, he was sent-off for violent conduct in a 3-1 away defeat to Salisbury City.[7] It would be the only game he played for the team.[8] He returned to Peterborough only to be released by the club on 15 November 2013 by "mutual consent".[9] Having been on trial with York City in December 2013, McDonald joined on 1 January 2014.[10] He left however without playing for first-team.

He signed for Derby County on 1 August 2014.[11] In March 2015 he joined Cheltenham Town on-loan making his debut on 28 March 2015 in a 0-3 home defeat to Plymouth Argyle.[12][13]

After joining FC Halifax Town on loan in late November, bad weather delayed his debut until 15 December 2015 in an FA Trophy fixture against Tamworth. McDonald scored a debutant goal.[14]
