The slaty gnateater (Conopophaga ardesiaca) is a species of bird in the Conopophagidae family. It is found in Bolivia and Peru. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist montane forests. The slaty gnateater has two sub-species:
- C. a. saturata von Berlepsch & Stolzmann, 1906 - southeast Peru
- C. a. ardesiaca D'Orbigny & Lafresnaye, 1837 - Bolivia and Peru
