Spiders of Australia
Australia has some highly venomous spiders, including the notorious Sydney funnel-web, its relatives in the Atrax genus, and redback spiders, whose bites can be deadly,[1] but the venom of many common Australian spiders is not considered very toxic.[2] Though Australia is infamous for venomous spiders, scientists report you are more likely to die of a bee sting than a spider bite on Australian shores. Records reveal no one has died from a spider bite since 1981.[3]
