St. Mark Senior Secondary Public School, Meera Bagh, is a co-educational English medium institution, inaugurated by the then Lt.Governor of Delhi, Air Chief Marshal Arjan Singh on April 20, 1990. It has a strength of 3800 students.

Admissions

Admissions in SMS are mainly to Class 1 which are based on a system of points. Admission to other classes are based on availability of seats.

Curriculum and infrastructure

Recognized by the Delhi Administration, the school follows the CBSE Syllabus. It has laboratories, a library, computers, Audio-visual facilities, a play field for all the major games (cricket, football, basketbball), NCC & Scouts, hobby clubs, and co-curricular activities like camping and educational excursions.

In addition to the above, there is a Maths laboratory, and Resource Rooms for English, Hindi, Sanskrit and Psychology.

Information

A student's idea of using human pulse beats to charge electronic devices like cellphones caught the fancy of Stanford University, which will partner with the National Innovation Foundation of India (NIF) to incubate and develop the concept. The student,Sarojini Mahajan, now in class 12, was a student of Class 9 when she first discussed the idea with her teacher in class and entered it for IGNITE ‘09, NIF’s ideas competition for schoolchildren across India.

A student's passion to preserve and protect Mother Earth won him the DLF Pramerica Community of Spirit Award 2011.Mani Makkar was awarded with a gold medal,a trophy,a cheque of Rs.50,000 and an all expenses paid trip to Washington.
