Background

Stacelita, a black horse, was sired by Monsun.[1][2] Her dam is Soignee sired by Dashing Blade.[2]

She was bred by Jean-Pierre Dubois. She is co-owned by Martin Schwartz and Ecurie Monastic. She has been trained by Jean-Claude Rouget, and later by Chad Brown.[2]

Racing career

Stacelita was ridden by Christophe Lemaire in four of her ten starts but her rider in her three races in 2010 was Christophe Soumillon. She is the winner of the French Oaks in 2009.[3] She also won the G1 Beverly D. and Flower Bowl Invitational stakes in the US in 2011.[3] Ramon A. Dominguez rode her in the 2011 races.[2]

Awards

Stacelita is the 2011 Eclipse Award winner as best female grass runner.[1][3]
