Stiftskeller St. Peter

Stiftskeller St. Peter is a restaurant within the monastery walls of St. Peter's Archabbey, Salzburg, Austria. It is claimed to be the oldest inn in Central Europe because of a supposed documentary mention of it by the scholar Alcuin in 803 AD.[1][2][3] Based on this and other claims, the Stiftskeller St. Peter is cited as one of the oldest restaurants in the world,[2] and the oldest in Europe.[1] Both Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Christopher Columbus are said to have been served at the restaurant.[4]
