The stripey, Microcanthus strigatus, is a species of sea chub native to the Pacific Ocean from Japan and China to Australia and east to the Hawaiian Islands. It can be found on reefs along the coast and in lagoons at depths from 1 to 140 m (3.3 to 459.3 ft). This species grows to 16 cm (6.3 in) in length. It can also be found in the aquarium trade. This species is the only known member of its genus.[1]
