Sugar Mama (confectionary)

This article is about the candy. For the blues song, see Sugar Mama (song). For the Beyoncé Knowles song, see Suga Mama. For the type of woman and relationship, see Age disparity in sexual relationships.

Sugar Mamas were originally produced by the James O. Welch Company in 1965, as a companion candy to the already produced Sugar Baby and Sugar Daddy. Sugar Mamas were chocolate-covered caramel suckers, essentially Sugar Daddy covered in chocolate. They had a distinctive red and yellow wrapper, the opposite of the Sugar Daddy's yellow and red wrapper.

They have not been produced since the 1980s.
