Supreme Commander (militant)

Supreme Commander is a title given to a person who controls and runs a militant group, organization, or wing. The title is also used for the head of a group's Supreme Council in many organizations, such as Tehrik-i-Taliban.^{[1] [2][3][4][5][6]}

Nazi Germany

The phrase "Supreme Leader", as Oberste Führer, was used by Adolf Hitler in his role respectively as supreme commander of the Sturmabteilung (SA) and the Schutzstaffel (SS). Hitler's supreme commander titles were considered paramilitary, and were the top tiers amongst several Nazi party paramilitary ranks.
