Swimming Pool 2, alternatively known as The Pool 2, is a 2005 Italian slasher film directed by Tiziano Pellegris.[1] It is the sequel to the 2001 German slasher film Swimming Pool.
Plot
It's been five years since the tragedy took place in Prague, which over time has been dubbed "The day of the pool massacre," in which a serial killer killed over 10 people. Now, a group of college friends on summer break have sneaked into a water park after hours - but what they do not know is that they are being tailed by a person in a mask. The friends consist of Kat, Chad, Vanessa, Dolan, Andrea "Andi", Ian, Cathy, Frankie, Jenny, Max, Sarah, Hal, Barbie and John. Sara, one of the survivors of the previous film, is then shown being decapitated in her apartment by someone wearing the same mask as the killer from the previous film, revealed to be the same person stalking the friends in the water park.
While the group swims in the park's largest pool, Frankie and Cathy sneak off to use one of the waterslides. However, the killer hacks Cathy to death before splitting Frankie vertically in half as he comes down the slide, recreating two deaths from the previous film. Later, Ian, Chad and Kat ride a lazy river. Ian and Kat leave while Chad stays, and the killer murders him by impaling him through his innertube. Later, Ian returns to the party while Kat stops to swim in another pool. The killer drains the pool while she is in it, and she becomes trapped in a pool drain. The killer then throws his machete into the pool; it gets sucked towards the pool drain and kills Kat.
Meanwhile, Hal and Barbie mess around on a wave machine. However, when they see the killer appear at the top, they panic and try to make their way to the bottom. However, while doing so, Hal falls off his board; he floats back to the top, where he is murdered. The killer then takes Hal's board and gets on the wave machine before decapitating Barbie. John and Vanessa also leave the others to have sex in a hot tub, but the killer appears and dismembers Vanessa before killing John by slicing off his penis. When she goes to use the bathroom, Jenny is attacked by the killer. She escapes the bathroom through a window and finds John and Vanessa's bodies before fleeing further away from the group. Eventually, the killer chases her to the entrance of a waterslide. Jenny tries to escape by going down the slide, but is caught and killed; the killer throws her corpse down the waterslide.
Andi, Sarah, Dolan, Ian and Max see Jenny's body coming out of the waterslide. Max and Ian go for help while the others hide in the main building. There, Sarah panics when she finds a knife among Dolan's things. She pushes him over a balcony and stabs Andi in the leg before fleeing. She is then attacked by the killer and jumps from a balcony into the pool. However, the killer pushes an air conditioner into the pool, where it electrocutes Sarah. Inside, Andi, now all alone, climbs to the roof and sees the lifeguard truck Max and Ian had driven abandoned, meaning they are likely dead. The killer then appears and Andi struggles him before throwing him over the side of the building to his presumed death. As he falls, his mask snags on a hook, revealing him as Ian.
Andi makes her way back down to the main pool area, thinking that she is the only survivor. She is then confronted by a still-living Max wielding a machete, who reveals that both he and Ian were the killers. Max says that he and Ian are the younger brothers of Frank and Tanya from the first film, respectively, and they wanted to continue their siblings' legacy of killing snobbish popular kids. Max chases Andi; she runs to the same waterslide as Jenny and also tries to escape down the slide. Max pursues her and makes several failed attempts to kill her inside the slide. Once Andi and Max are dispensed from the waterslide, Andi is able to outswim Max in the pool and gets out first. Even so, Max overpowers Andi and is about to kill her when Dolan appears, revealing himself to be alive, and stabs Max with his knife; Andi then finishes Max off with his machete. Andi and Dolan share a kiss and are about to leave when Ian leaps off the ground and attacks them, but Andi throws him onto his own machete, killing him.
Andi and Dolan leave the park and contact the authorities, who collect the bodies. They are able to identify that the waterpark murders were committed by Max and Ian, but the lead detective on the case is then informed of Sara's death and is told that neither one killed her. A van is then seen beside a river, and a person wearing the mask is seen dumping Sara's headless body in the river. The masked person then holds up a photograph of him and Sara and removes his mask, revealing himself as Frank, before the film ends.
