Camping World Truck Series
Duke began his NASCAR career a little over a month after his 18th birthday. He was hired by SS Green Light Racing to drive their #07 truck at Martinsville where he qualified 32nd and finished 34th out of 36 trucks. Duke only completed 159 of 200 laps.[1] Denny Hamlin won this race after leading 68 laps.[2]
He drove for SS Green Light Racing in the Camping World Truck Series in 2012, competing for Rookie of the Year honors.[3]
Nationwide Series
Just three weeks after completing his first NCWTS race, T.J. Duke was hired by Key Motorsports to drive their #40 car in the 2nd to last race of the 2011 season at Phoenix. The race was a total crashfest, but Duke was able to stay out of trouble to finish 23rd of 43 cars, 9 laps down. Sam Hornish, Jr. won the race.[2][4]
