TATI University College, (previously Terengganu Advanced Technical Institute (TATI)) is a private university college in Malaysia.

Formerly known as Terengganu Advanced Technical Institute (TATI), it was established on 11 June 1993, by the state of government of Terengganu, Malaysia.

TATiUC offers courses with hands-on practicals(70%) and theory (30%) in the fields of manufacturing technology, electricaland automation technology, chemical technology, and computer and media technology with specialisation in the areas of tool and dye making, tool and dye design, CNC machining, mechatronics, robotics, computer integrated systems, electronics and instrumentation, polymer and computer network (CISCO).

History

Terengganu Advanced Technical Institute (TATI) was established to tackle the problem the needs of skilled manpower in Malaysia especially in Terengganu Darul Iman. According to Tati Director, Mohd. Nawi Derahman, on 11 June 1993, the State Government agreed to establish a Skills Centre to be known as Terengganu Advanced Technical Institute (Tati).

To help the institute, the State Government has established co-operation with Ingineurschule St. Gallen (ISG), Switzerland, for the guidance and expertise technical. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed on 11 October 1993, between the State and ISG to establish courses in High Skills Diploma. Through the agreement, the ISG has agreed to provide expertise, technology and logistics facilities.

Tati received its first intake in 1993 with a Siswa/siswi of more than 30 people. Siswa/siswi started their studies in a temporary Tati campus at the College of Religious Sultan Zainal Abidin (KUSZA) before moving to the permanent campus in the Gulf Kalong, Kemaman, in 1996. It was officially opened by Dato 'Seri Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, Prime Minister of Malaysia on 11 October 1997.

The program is offered in collaboration with ISG in Switzerland. Among the courses offered are the Department of Production Engineering Diploma In Manufacturing Engineering (Tool and Die Design) and Diploma In Manufacturing Engineering (Tool and Die Making). Department, Industrial Automation Industrial Automation Diploma in Information Technology (IT) and Diploma in Industrial Automation (Mechatronics). The courses take three years and are full-time.

Bachelor's degree programs (TATIUC–UTM)

The Tati Double Degree Programme run-UTM was first offered in July session 1996/1997. Among the courses conducted on campus Tati is a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic, and Integration of computer science degree. Each degree takes four years, three years in the Tati, and final year at UTM Skudai campus until the completion of the TATI infrastructure.

Stage diploma/HND

In the 1999/2000 session, Tati offered a diploma course in twinning programs Tati–Edexcel (UK), known as the Higher National Diploma (HND) Programme and start by taking the siswa or siswi first group of students or student in July 1999. Courses offered are HDN in Manufacturing Engineering, HND in electrical engineering (Electrical And Electronic) and HND in Information Technology (Software Engineering). A minimum three-year course is conducted full-time on campus Tati.

Pra TATI - KAT

At the July session 1999/2000 Tati took the first group of students or student Pre-KMT Tati of 39 people, one-year program is conducted in collaboration between Tati and the International College of Terengganu (KAT) program is introduced with the aim to train students SPM school leavers who have no scientific or technical background. The program takes one year and conducted in KAT. When the siswa and the siswi successfully completed the course in KAT, they will be offered to further their studies to the year of the Tati (Main Campus) at the Diploma level.

Pra TATI–TESDEC [TESDEC]

Tati has cooperated with the State of Terengganu Skills Development Centre (TESDEC) and introduce the pre-TESDEC Tati in the field of mechatronics and "Tool and Dye". For the field of mechatronics, the program is for six months. Successful students enter into the second semester of a diploma. The program was started in November 1999 with 20 persons on the TATI campus.
