Predecessor Tata Indica

The Tata Tiago is a hatchback automobile manufactured by Tata Motors. It was launched[1] in India in the first week of April 2016. The Tiago is derived from the Tata Kite project, and it is introduced with petrol and diesel engine variants. The petrol engine is a three-cylinder Revotron aluminium motor that produces with 85Ps of peak power. The diesel engine is a new Revotorq motor that comes with a displacement capacity of 1050cc. This three cylinder engine produces with 70Ps of peak power.[2][3][4][5]

The vehicle was previously announced as the Tata Zica, with "Zica" short for "zippy car".

However, on 2 February 2016, Tata announced that the vehicle would be renamed as the name was a homonym of Zika, the virus involved in the ongoing international outbreak.[6] After soliciting suggestions in an online competition, the vehicle was rebranded as the "Tata Tiago", a common Portuguese masculine given name, on 22 February 2016.[7]

Tata Motors launched the Tiago hatchback in India on April 6, 2016 at Rs 3.20 Lac (Ex-Showroom, Delhi).[8] The car is packed with both diesel and petrol powertrains. It is developed with IMPACT concept. Also, the Tiago gets both City and Eco drive modes to result the stunning performance and fuel efficiency. The car is equipped with a Harman developed ConnectNext infotainment system, Juke-car app and first-in-segment smartphone enabled Navigation app to guide the trip. The Tiago will also spawn out a sub-4 metre notchback, which could be called the Sway. It's project name, however, is Kite 5. The Kite 5 is one of the many upcoming Tata Cars in India. Engine

The Tata Tiago runs on a 1.2-Litre petrol which churns out the power output of 84bhp/114Nm and a 1.05-Litre diesel mill, which is delivering power output of 67bhp/139Nm. Both the variants are transmitted through a 5-speed manual transmission system. Explore other essential features here

Safety Features

The all new Tiago has advanced safety features[9] including driver and co-passenger airbags, rear parking sensors to make the drive safe. Tata Tiago has advanced braking system with 9th generation Bosch ABS, EBD and corner stability control that ensures the safety in the situation of emergency.
