Tech Coast

The name Tech Coast refers to coastal Southern California,[1] more precisely to the coastal regions of the following counties, extending from roughly Goleta to La Jolla:[2]

Similarly to the name Silicon Valley, the term Tech Coast is used to emphasize the presence of many information technology companies in this area,[3] such as Broadcom, Conexant, AutoVitals, Procore Technologies, ClearpathGPS, and Qualcomm.[4]

The area hosts several important universities, such as California Institute of Technology, University of Southern California, University of California, Los Angeles, University of California, Santa Barbara, University of California, Irvine, and University of California, San Diego.
