The American in Me is a compilation album by the Avengers. It was released on April 20, 2004 on DBK Works. The album is composed of four studio recordings from 1978 and a live concert recorded at the Old Waldorf in San Francisco, CA on June 13, 1979. The concert was previously released on Zero Hour one year earlier.
Cover versions
Pearl Jam played the song "American in Me" as part of a surprise in-store performance held on April 29, 2005 at Easy Street Records in West Seattle, WA, in support of the Coalition of Independent Music Stores. It is featured on their 2006 live EP Live at Easy Street. They also have been playing it live between 2004 (Vote For Change tour) and 2006, and with Penelope Houston and Greg Ingraham on 16.07.2006 San Francisco, California, BG Civic Auditorium.
