The Budapest Beacon is an online newspaper that reports on current events taking place in Hungary. It is published by United States-based Real Reporting Foundation, a news organization.

In July 2014, Hungarian news portals reported that The Budapest Beacon plans to launch a new Hungarian language news website sometime in September.[1][2][3][4][5][6]
The newspaper is often critical of the Fidesz government.
