The Mick is an upcoming American sitcom television series set to be broadcast on Fox in 2017 as a midseason entry. Kaitlin Olson serves as executive producer and also plays the lead role in the show, which is being produced by 20th Century Fox Television. The series is scheduled to premiere on January 1, 2017, before settling into its regular Tuesday night slot.[1][2][3]

Plot

The series will follow a Rhode Island woman who is about to take on the responsibility of parental guardian for her very wealthy – and estranged – sister's children in Greenwich, Connecticut, this after the latter and her husband have to flee the United States to avoid being arrested on federal fraud charges.

Production

Development

The pilot was written by Dave Chernin and John Chernin with Randall Einhorn directing.[4] The series will be filmed as a single-camera setup.[5] Chernin, Olson, Chernin, and Einhorn will serve as executive producers.[5][6][7]

Casting

On February 29, 2016, it was announced that Sofia Black-D’Elia was cast as Sabrina.[8] It was announced that Kaitlin Olson was cast as Mackenzie on March 2, 2016.[6] Thomas Barbusca, Jack Stanton, and Carla Jimenez were cast as Chip Pemberton, Ben Pemberton, and Alba Pemberton respectively on March 18, 2016.[9] Susan Park was cast as Liz.[10]
