New York Women's Foundation

The New York Women's Foundation (NYWF) is a charitable organization in New York that works on women's health and economic issues.[1][2] It describes itself as a "cross-cultural alliance of women catalyzing partnerships and leveraging human and financial capital to achieve sustained economic security and justice for women and girls."[3]

It was established in 1987.[4] It was co-founded by Helen LaKelly Hunt.[5][6][7] By 2007, it was giving away a million dollars a year.[5][8][9][10] In 2008, it was slated to give away $2.75 million.[11] In 2011, Ana Oliveira was president of the New York Women’s Foundation.[12][13] In February 2013 it received a grant of $750,000 from Walmart.[14] In April 2013, it released a report that found that women in New York are 30% more likely to die in childbirth than they were 12 years prior.[15]
