Plot

A teenage boy plays a shooter video game in a darkened room doors behind blind covered windows. His mother arrives with a box. She opens the blinds and puts the box on the coffee table in front of him, saying it contains a present for him. Soon after his mother goes upstairs answering a phone call, the boy opens the box, revealing a happy puppy. He is initially pleased with the present, but when he sees the puppy lacks most of its left front leg, he kicks the animal away in disgust and returns to his video game. Unperturbed, the three-legged puppy clumsily finds a red rubber ball below a cabinet and starts urging the boy to play with him. The boy does his best to ignore the little dog, but is finally won over. He shuts off the video game and goes outside to play fetch with his puppy. The boy walks with crutches, revealing the missing lower part of his left leg.
