The Priory School is a coeducational secondary school and sixth form with academy status, located in the Orpington area of the London Borough of Bromley, England.

In 2006 the school gained specialist sports college status, focusing efforts on sports and the community; it was the only school in the borough to have this status. The school converted to academy status in May 2012, and after receiving an Ofsted report in early 2016 that stated they were underperforming, the school will be taken over by the Harris Federation.[1]

The school owns a small centre in Blaenavon, South Wales, named Ramfield, which all students have a chance of visiting during their time at the school.

In 2010 the school was divided into five colleges, each with its own Head of College, College Learning Manager and College Support Manager. The college's names are names of surrounding areas in Kent. They are:

As well as vertical tutoring groups with members of Year 7 to Year 11 in a tutor group of 25 pupils.

Sixth form

The Priory School has a specially built multi-storey sixth form block.

There is a huge range of subjects there, including English and History. Also on offer are Level 2 courses e.g. Business Studies and Child Development. These courses can be continued throughout AS/A2 levels.

Head Boy and Head Girl

Since the school first opened in 1990 there have always been a Head Boy and Head Girl, voted for by the teachers and Sixth Form students.

Ramfield

Ramfield is a field study and outdoors centre located in Blaenavon, south Wales, just outside Pontypool. The area is steeped in industrial history with its proximity to the once thriving coal mines. The building was once a school house and with the church of St Peter next door, was the nucleus of a thriving community of iron workers and then coal miners.

Productions

On 24 and 25 March 2011, the school presented their first school production since 2008 – High School Musical On Stage. Prior to this, in July 2008, the school put on its first musical in over 8 years: a student-led production of My Song, a musical commissioned for the school, written by Jeff Blythe.
