Thomas Deakin

Thomas Deakin (christened 2 May 1790) was an early English first class cricketer who played for Yorkshire during the club's infancy.[1] A batsman of unknown handedness, Deakin played for Sheffield Cricket Club in 1834, the embryonic form of the later Yorkshire county cricket team.[2] In 1833 he also played for a Yorkshire XI against a Norfolk XI in Sheffield, a match now regarded as the one of the inaugural matches for Yorkshire County Cricket Club.[3][4]

Deakin made four first-class appearances for Yorkshire in his career,[5] scoring 45 runs for them, and a fifth match for the aforementioned Sheffield Cricket Club.[6]
