Those People is a 2015 American drama film, written and directed by Joey Kuhn .[1] The film stars Jonathan Gordon, Jason Ralph and Haaz Sleiman. The cast also includes Britt Lower, Meghann Fahy, Chris Conroy and Allison Mackie.

Kuhn has described the film as having been inspired by his own experience falling in love with his best friend at college, as well as by his fascination with the story of Bernie Madoff's son Mark, who committed suicide two years after his father's arrest.[2]

The film won the Audience Award for Outstanding Feature Film at the 2015 NewFest: New York Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, & Transgender Film Festival,[3] as well as the Audience Award for Best First US Dramatic Feature at the 2015 Outfest Film Festival.[4]

Plot

Charlie (Jonathan Gordon) and Sebastian (Jason Ralph), childhood best friends now in young adulthood. Charlie is an art student, whose unrequited love for Sebastian influences his art, while Sebastian has been in a state of personal crisis since his wealthy financier father's (Daniel Gerroll) arrest on white collar criminal charges. After moving into Sebastian's apartment to help him through his bouts of depression and alcohol abuse, Charlie is drawn into a love triangle when he meets Tim (Haaz Sleiman), a successful concert pianist.
