"Thunder Kiss '65" is the only official single from the album La Sexorcisto: Devil Music Volume One by White Zombie. The song can also be found on Rob Zombie's Past, Present & Future and the greatest hits album The Best of Rob Zombie.
Samples
The audio samples "You're all shook up, aren't you baby?" and "I never try anything; I just do it. Wanna try me?" are taken from the 1965 movie Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!
Reception
The single was released three times as a single before it gained the attention of Mike Judge and its video was aired on Beavis and Butt-head in 1993.[2] The popularity of the single resulted in White Zombie's first Grammy nomination for Best Metal Performance later that year. In May 2006, the song was ranked #32 on VH1's list, '40 Greatest Metal Songs'.[3]
Music video
The support MTV provided by playing the "Thunder Kiss '65" music video increased the band's popularity greatly (especially after having been played during the MTV animated series Beavis and Butthead on the episode "Yogurt's Cool"). The video was directed by Juliet Cuming and features the band playing the song out in a desert with dancers and monsters. According to Rob, it is the lowest budgeted music video released by the band.[4]
Appearances
- It was featured as theme music for the 1990s syndicated show of ECW and as the theme song for tag team The Pitbulls. In addition, ECW used the song for their PPV, ECW Barely Legal.
- It appears in Chad Fernandez's part in Globe's 2001 skateboard video Opinion.
- "Thunderkiss '65" appeared in numerous films, TV shows and video games including Way of the Warrior, Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle, Supernatural, Rocksmith 2014, Guitar Hero: Smash Hits, Guitar Hero Live, Wild Hogs, Bride of Chucky and as DLC for Rock Band 3.
- A cover version appeared in Guitar Hero.
- "Thunder Kiss '65 Swinging Lovers Remix" appears in Brainscan.
- It is featured in the 1999 video XPW Hardcore Conception!.
- In the CSI: Miami season 10 episode "A Few Dead Men", the song appears in the opening while an acoustic version appears at the end of the episode.
- The song played during the introduction of bike messenger Puck aka David Rainey during the first episode of The Real World: San Francisco. Subsequent airings of this and other Real World seasons have replaced the original music.

- The band Radio Cult released a cover of the song on their album Grooves from the Grave in 2008.
- "Thunder Kiss '65" was recorded by Catch 22 for the White Zombie tribute album Super-Charger Hell in 2000.
