Tierpark (Berlin U-Bahn)
Tierpark is a Berlin U-Bahn station located on the U5. It is named after the Tierpark Berlin, one of the two zoological gardens in Berlin.
The station opened in 1973 and was the eastern terminus of (what is now) line U5 until 1988. It was the one and only subterranean subway station that was built by the East German government. Producers were the VEB Kombinat Tiefbau Berlin. [1]
