Tilquhillie Castle

Tilquhillie Castle is a castle near Banchory in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. The castle formally formed part of the lands of Arbroath Abbey. Historic Environment Scotland's listed building condition report from 1972 described the castle as "Modified Z plan tower house, four-storey with vaulted basement. Harl and slate, rounded and corbelled angles. Inset stone over door dated 1576", and noted that it had been deserted since 1948. The castle was subsequently restored with modern amenities.[1][2]
