Tom Macleod is a presenter for Sky News.
He has previously worked for Sky Sports and was the writer and presenter of the Sky documentary 'Concussion: The Impact on Sport'.[1]
Before joining Sky News, he worked at the BBC as well as commercial radio covering news, music, and sports programming. He is a passionate advocate for increased awareness of concussion and head injury in sport and is proud to support the leading brain injury charity Headway U.K.[2]
Early life and education
Tom was born and brought up in Edinburgh, Scotland. Tom studied music at the London Centre of Contemporary Music and earned a Bachelor of Arts. In 2013 Tom gained an NCTJ qualification in journalism at News Associates in London.
Career
2011: Early work
Undertook a month's work experience and training at BBC 6 Music in London. He then freelanced for BBC London 94.9, working on Drivetime and other shows throughout the day.
2012: Presenter and producer
In December 2011 to November 2012 Tom was a presenter and also producer for the Afternoon Drive Time show on Waves Radio in Scotland 5 days a week.
2013: Newsreader for UTV Media
During 2013 Tom was a newsreader for talkSPORT, the world's biggest sports radio station as well as acting News Editor on several occasions.
2014-present: Sky News
He is a presenter for Sky television. He also wrote and presented the Sky documentary 'Concussion: The Impact on Sport'.
