Torstein Hagen (born 1943) is a Norwegian businessman who serves as the chairman and chief executive officer (CEO) of Viking River Cruises.
Hagen earned a degree in physics at the Norwegian Institute of Technology and an MBA at Harvard University.[6] He then worked in the shipping and cruise industries, served on the boards of Holland America Line and Kloster Cruise Ltd. He was formerly a partner of the management consulting firm McKinsey & Company in Europe and became the CEO of Det Bergenske Dampskibsselskab in 1976. He was CEO of Royal Viking Line from 1980 to 1984.[7]
Hagen founded Viking River Cruises in 1997; the company has since become the world's leading river cruise line, operating a fleet of 41 vessels on the waterways of Europe, Russia, Ukraine, China, Southeast Asia and Egypt.
