Transbotics Corporation is a privately held corporation specializing in automated guided vehicle system (AGV) design and system implementation. Transbotics Corporation is a prominent North American automation solutions integrator and manufacturer that specializes in the design, development, support and installation of automated guided vehicle system solutions. Transbotics’ comprehensive product and service offerings include automated guided vehicles, automated guided carts,conveyors, automatic truck loading systems, integration software, engineering services, training & maintenance, motors, scanners, encoders, battery solutions as well as spare parts and a 24-hour emergency support line.[1]
History
Transbotics was founded in 1982 as the North American affiliate of Netzler & Dahlgren Co. AB, now Kollmorgen, a Danaher Corporation company, to acquire or license Netzler & Dahlgren control technologies and products for automated guided vehicles (“AGVs”) and to enhance, modify, and otherwise adapt them for use by customers in North America. On March 28, 1990, the Company successfully completed its initial public offering. On November 30, 2000, the Company’s license agreement with Netzler & Dahlgren was modified to allow the Company to pursue end user AGV business worldwide on a nonexclusive basis. In 2001, the Company started doing business under the name Transbotics Corporation and officially changed its corporate name from NDC Automation, Inc. through charter amendment in 2002.
Transbotics offers automated guided vehicles and is known for its ability to custom design AGVs.
The Company also offers automated guided carts Automated guided carts (AGC), smaller, less complex AGVs. The Automated Guided Carts product line offers lower cost solutions for material handling using tape guidance.
Product line
Transbotics supplies AGVs and AGCs with stated capacities to 300,000 pounds. They supply standard off-the-shelf models of fork and rollerdeck designs as well as custom designs. Vehicle types include forklifts, unit load carriers, rollerdecks and customized heavy-load solutions up to 300,000 pounds. Transbotics also offers AGC carts, light loads vehicles as well as low-cost tape solutions.
