Background

True North was bred by Bertram and Diana Firestone's Newstead Farm in Upperville, Virginia. Out of the mare, Rose Hill, he was sired by Northern Dancer.[1]

Racing career

True North was best known for winning the then richest race in Florida, the 1971 Widener Handicap at Hialeah Park Race Track.[2]
