The European White Elm cultivar Ulmus laevis 'Punctata' was first mentioned by Schelle in Beissner et al. Laubholz-Benennung 87, 1903 as U. effusa (: laevis) f. punctata, but without description.

Description

Schneider later described it in Illustriertes Handbuch der Laubholzkunde, 1:213, 1904 as having leaves flecked with white.[1]

Cultivation

The tree was never grown in the UK.[2] No specimens are known to survive.
