"Underage Peter" is the fourteenth episode of the fourteenth season of the animated sitcom Family Guy, and the 263rd episode overall. It aired on Fox in the United States on February 21, 2016, and is written by Shawn Ries and directed by Joseph Lee.[1]
Plot
At the Drunken Clam, Peter drinks a shot of hot sauce to win a bet and $10 from Quagmire, inspiring him to get paid for doing foolish dares for money. During a night out drunk with his friends, Peter takes the bet of drinking from a fire hydrant; this leads the hydrant sending a blast of water that catapults Peter into the Quahog Public Library, which is then flooded and destroyed. What happened at the Quahog Public Library reaches the news as Lois, Chris, Meg, and Stewie watch. At a press conference at his house, Mayor Adam West raises the legal drinking age to 50 years old, on the basis that Peter is 42 but cannot drink responsibly. The deputy mayor is also present as Mayor West quietly says through his teeth for him to be quiet.
Peter and the group are desperate to get alcohol and come up with several failed plans: they try going into the Pawtucket Brewery after hours. They leave when a security guard asks Peter if he was the one who cried during that meeting. Then they raid beers from prison inmates, where Peter suspects that it is in the prisoners' toilets. He ended up drinking urine. Finally, they head over to the next town to purchase beers only to find that the town's new mayor Jay Leno had passed a law that you must be wearing a full denim outfit to purchase liquor. While sulking at the Drunken Clam, they see Brian drinking, as he is 56 in dog years. Joe suggests that they have Brian buy them beer, to which Brian agrees. During a drunken night with Peter, Stewie tells him that Peter's only using him, but Brian doesn't believe him. Lois also objects to this and tries to halt this, but Brian and Peter head out to the park. When Brian leaves for a moment, a police officer comes and almost arrests him for underage drinking, but Peter outs Brian for buying him the alcohol and Brian is arrested.
Brian does community service where Seamus is present for breaking the window of an Apple Store. When Peter comes to ask him to buy more beer, but Brian angrily refuses and Peter eventually joins the community service due to having a liquor flask with him and insulting the supervising police officer. After Peter absorbs more righteous anger from Brian, they both agree that the real problem is the stupid drinking age law and they need to work and get it stricken from the books. They head to Mayor West's to beg him to repeal it. When all seems lost, Carol comes at the door with a glass of wine, making Brian state that the Mayor has broken his own law since Carol is underage. Peter takes a picture of the crime, and Mayor West agrees to revoke the law.
Reception
The episode received an audience of 2.72 million, making it the second most watched show on Fox that night behind The Simpsons.[2]
