Vaglass

Vaglass (ヴァグラス Vagurasu) is a fictional organization that serves as the antagonists in the 36th Super Sentai Series Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters. Led by the entity known as Messiah, Vaglass seeks to make the Earth more suitable to machines and seeks to wipe out the human race by tapping into the Energy Management Center's Enetron. However, sent into subspace, an alternate dimension where gravity is greater to the point that breathing can be painful and humans become living data, Messiah resolves to use its Avatars Enter and Escape to gather the vast amount of Enetron needed so Messiah can re-enter reality to assimilate the Earth to ensure its dominion. The Vaglass base of operations is the ruins of the Transport Research Center that ended up in subspace thirteen years prior and serves as Messiah's inactive body before it is destroyed with it.

Messiah

Messiah (メサイア Mesaia) originated as a computer virus that infected the Transport Research Center's computers on Christmas, 1999 NC, and underwent an evolution from the Enetron in the system. Messiah used his assimilation powers to seize control of the facility's systems and machinery before the research staff managed to contain him by transporting the entire compound and themselves into Hyper Space; preventing him from spreading to the world's communication, energy, and defense networks. However, due to the nature of Hyper Space, Messiah was able to assimilate the digitized humans along with the facility and use their collective intellect as his "Engineers" while using them as source material for Enter and Escape. He would renew his campaign for global domination thirteen years later in Neo AD 2012, by sending his agents across dimensions to gather Enetron to return him to reality and assimilate the entire planet.[1][2]

Though a computer virus of tremendous destructive capacity, Messiah is fairly unintelligent, often ill-tempered, single-minded, and extremely impatient. After Enter supplies the resources from the Living Body Program Research Institute, Messiah evolves and creates a personal vessel called Messiah Cell (メサイアセル Mesaia Seru, 29, 30), capable of recreating defeated Metaloids and self-regeneration.[3] Though this form is eventually destroyed by efforts of the Go-Busters, Enter makes back-ups of Messiah's data in the thirteen Messiah Cards with intentions of making himself an entirely different Messiah. Escape thwarts his attempt and restores their creator as he originally was via Megazord Zeta's evolution into Messiah Reboot (メサイア・リブート Mesaia Ribūto, 44).[4] Messiah Reboot is destroyed permanently by the Go-Busters and their anti-virus program. But three Messiah Cards remain active, two with Enter and one in Hiromu, before they are eventually destroyed as well.

Messiah is voiced by Seiji Sasaki (佐々木 誠二 Sasaki Seiji).

Enter

Enter (エンター Entā, [Note 1]) is the primary servant of Messiah, an Avatar created from combining various aspects of the scientists that "His Majesty" absorbed, including his goggles and fluent French. Though he appears human, Enter's body is pure data, able to be easily be recreated when destroyed and uses cable-like tentacles to fight. Beneath his frivolous and laid-back facade hides a very smart and manipulative nature.

Using his disguise ability, Enter conducts espionage tactics to obtain Enetron, using some of it to bring Metaloids to life through his laptop and a series of Metavirus cards. After the debut of Go-Buster Oh, Enter resolves to focus his goal on increasing the number of created Metaloids in order to transport more Megazords into the city to speed up his agenda. After his scheme with reverse engineering the BC-04 Beetle's blueprints failed, Enter's replication of the Filmzord's ability to install projectors of subspace in the other Megazords to placate Messiah's rapidly waning patience resulted with Escape's creation as Enter is relegated to Megazord transporting and Enetron theft. However, Enter succeeds in using the Living Body Program Research Institute's technology to evolve Messiah. By that time, discarding his coat and taking up a sword, Enter becomes serious as he fights the Go-Busters to keep them from entering subspace and then pilot the Megazord Type Epsilon to stop Go-Buster Ace from destroying Messiah's core.

Unfortunately after the battle, now acting on his own whim, Enter reveals that he was actually creating back-ups of Messiah's data while leading Vaglass in his place. His fight with Red Buster also convinced Enter that humans can not be underestimated as he intends to take Hiromu's data to fully grasp the human spirit as part of his ultimate plan: evolving into a new Messiah. To that end, scattering the other Messiah cards to the wind and placing Messiah Card 13 into Hiromu's body, Enter advanced himself with Messiah Card 04 and gained the ability to transform into Enter Unite (エンター・ユナイト Entā Yunaito), able to overpower the Go-Busters' Powered Custom forms and took Messiah Card 07 to absorbed for both leverage and speeding up his evolution. Though seemingly killed by Escape when she learned his intentions, Enter is recreated with his power magnified to the point of infecting non-human organic life forms with Metaviruses. By them, Enter reveals that his immortality is the result of final Messiah Card in Hiromu serving as his back up as he can be recreated from the moment of destruction. Because the card is in Hiromu's body, Enter begins to copy the human's data to not only know everything about him, but also transform himself into a dark version of Red Buster called Dark Buster (ダークバスター Dāku Basutā). Once able to assimilate humans, Enter reaches the final stages of his evolution as the Go-Busters pull off a risky gambit to take him into the unstable Subspace to stop him once and far all. After Messiah Card 13 removed from Hiromu's body, Enter no longer has any back-up or a trump card with Messiah Card 07. Following the destruction of Megazord Omega, Enter faces the Go-Busters for the final time but finds himself overpowered as Red Buster tells him that failed to truly understand humans' greatest strength is their friendship and imperfections. After being fatally wounded by the Volcanick All Busters Attack and no means to escape his permanent death, Enter explodes into bits of data with his human victims restored.[5]

During Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger vs. Go-Busters: The Great Dinosaur Battle! Farewell Our Eternal Friends, providing his technology to Neo-Grifforzer and Neo-Geildon, it is revealed that Enter created a one-time Vaglass restoration program that activated in response to Voldos. However, Enter ends up being destroyed permanently by the combined efforts of the main Kyoryugers.

Enter is portrayed by Syo Jinnai (陳内 将 Jinnai Shō).[1][2][6]

Megazord Epsilon (メガゾードε Megazōdo Ipushiron) is Enter's first personal Megazord, a flight-capable robot armed with a powerful railgun. Enter uses it for the first time during the events of Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters the Movie: Protect the Tokyo Enetower! to keep the Go-Busters from interfering in his plan to transport the area surround Tokyo Enetower into subspace. Though Megazord Epsilon was destroyed, Enter created two more Megazords of that model to fight the Go-Busters. The first of the copies was used to protect Messiah's core when the Go-Busters entered subspace, only to be defeated by Go-Buster Ace, while the second copy was destroyed by Tategami Lioh.

Megazord Omega (メガゾードω Megazōdo Omega) is Enter's second personal Megazord, equipped with a cannon on its chest. Enter uses it for the first time during the events of Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters vs. Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger: The Movie. In the final stage of his evolution, Enter creates a second Megazord Omega from the Hayami area's Enetron tank and the residing humans.[7]

Escape

Escape (エスケイプ Esukeipu, [Note 2]) is a female Avatar serving Messiah, whom she refers to as "Papa" and is extremely devoted to him. But as she follows her emotions, Enter calls her a perfect imitation of humanity. Escape was created to take over Enter's duty to cause human suffering after Messiah was unsatisfied with results, telling him that he should just stick to transporting Megazords and siphoning Enetron. Her weapons of choice are her twin machine pistols with dog-headed charms Gog and Magog (ゴク&マゴク Goku to Magoku), reflecting Hiromu's mother being one of the scientists that Escape was designed after. She also carries a tablet on her person to create Metaloids with, using Metavirus card "apps" instead of physical cards. Unlike Enter, who is more reserved and cautious in his endeavors, Escape is a strong female type who delights in fighting strong opponents and actively fights the Go-Busters simply for pleasure rather than for any objective, finding an ideal opponent in Blue Buster while under the influence of his Weakpoint. After Red Buster destroys Messiah while the others destroy Messiah Cell, an angry Escape flees and resurfaces after learning of Enter's plans for Messiah. Though she detests Enter's actions, Escape is forced to work under him when he threatens to delete her.

Later on, when the Go-Busters unlock their Powered Custom, she becomes really eager to fight them, getting her wish when she faces Ryuji in his powered up form. This results in Gog and Magog being destroyed (though she repairs them later on) and Escape's data critically damaged while being satisfied with the fight. However, wanting to keep the remaining Messiah Metaloids alive so Messiah can be reborn, Escape risks her very being when upgrading herself with the ability to transform into Escape Evolve (エスケイプ・エボルブ Esukeipu Eborubu). While she can now contend with the Go-Busters Powered Custom, her body suffers from the resulting software bugs. Though she follows him because he possesses a Messiah Card, Escape betrays Enter once she obtains Megazord Zeta and learns that he has no intent to recreate Messiah as he originally was. Using Megazord Zeta to crush Enter, Escape resolves to recreate Messiah as she remembers, only to be absorbed by her creator once she had outlived her use to him.[8]

Once Enter has integrated Messiah Card 07 into himself, he is able to create Organic Metaroids, and uses that ability to recreate Escape and assimilated organic life into her data composition. As a result, making her a loyal servant, the recreated Escape can transform into the hybridized Escape Evolve (Organic Unite Form) (エスケイプ・エボルブ(有機物融合態) Esukeipu Eborubu (Yūkibutsu Yūgōtai), 46-48). But the first three versions of Escape, each able to become Escape Evolve (Flower Unite Form) (エスケイプ・エボルブ(花融合態) Esukeipu Eborubu (Hana Yūgōtai)), are only incomplete copies of the original with limited intelligence and comprehension as they are created from back-up data of Escape predating her time of creation. However, due to the love data from Tiaraloid, Enter became obsessed with recreating a perfect copy of Escape. This resulted in the creation of an Escape from a snake who is extremely mentally unstable due to her composition being corrupted beyond Enter's ability to repair. Left to her devices, wanting to be like her creator, Escape assimilated various animals to assume her Escape Evolve (Animal Unite Form) (エスケイプ・エボルブ(獣融合態) Esukeipu Eborubu (Kemono Yūgōtai)). Fighting the Go-Busters, Escape assimilates the surrounding matter to become Escape Zeta (エスケイプζ Esukeipu Zēta, 48) before being fatally wounded in her Megazord body. Reverted to her original form, Escape dissolves with Blue Buster giving her peace of mind that she made her papa proud.[9][10]

During Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger vs. Go-Busters: The Great Dinosaur Battle! Farewell Our Eternal Friends, Escape is resurrected as part of the Vaglass's one-time restoration program activated by Voldos's presence. She aids Neo-Grifforzer and Neo-Geildon in their scheme to evolve their master before being destroyed permanently by Kyoryu Gold.

Escape is portrayed by Ayame Misaki (水崎 綾女 Misaki Ayame).

Megazord Zeta (メガゾードζ Megazōdo Zēta, 42-44) is Escape's personal Megazord, a Type-Delta which Messiah Card 06 transferred into and reformatted into Messiah's new vessel. Though unstable at first, Megazord Zeta upgrades upon absorbing Messiah Cards 09 and 12, as Escape intended to recreate the Messiah she loves and serves by summoning three waves of Vaglass Megazords for the Zeta-Type to assimilate along with surrounding matter. Able to get an Alpha, a Beta, and a Gamma, Megazord Zeta evolves into Messiah Reboot.[11]

Buglers

The Buglers (バグラー Bagurā) are Vaglass' robotic foot soldiers created by Enter using a Bugler Card (バグラーカード Bagurā Kādo) on his computer. They are also capable of piloting giant Bugzords (バグゾード Baguzōdo). The Bugzords are a set of robots Vaglass seems to have build into their Type Alpha Megazords for battle. They appear to be armored Buglers with cannons on their backs. They can be deployed from jettisoned-off cocoons from the Megazord's body or independently.[1][2]

Metaloids

The Metaloids (メタロイド Metaroido) are Vaglass's robotic warriors, created when an item is infected with a Metavirus (メタウィルス Metawirusu), a fragment of Messiah's data that mimics its inorganic assimilation and morphs an infected object into an artificial life form. The purpose of a Metaloid is to function as a beacon, allowing a Megazord to appear within a radius of 3 kilometers due to a margin of error caused by the teleportation process. However, this is not limited to the ground as Megazords can transport underground and in the sky and more often than not, the Vaglass can take advantage of the area around the beacon. In battle, the sole purpose of a Metaloid was to originally deal with the Go-Busters for as long as possible so the Megazord can appear and siphon Enetron. However, when Messiah creates Escape, the Metaloids are given the new objective to cause as much human suffering as they can.[1][2]

Messiah Metaloids

The twelve Messiah Metaloids (メサイアメタロイド Mesaia Metaroido) are Metaloids created from the Messiah Cards (メサイアカード Mesaia Kādo), the backup data of Messiah, which activate on their terms after Enter scattered them to the four winds to select their vessels and siphon a nearby Enetron source. The Messiah Metaloids' ultimate goal is to absorb enough data to become powerful enough that the Go-Busters could not destroy them while Messiah would be fully reborn through one of them. However, the true nature of the Messiah Metaloids is to transmit copies of the data they have amassed into Messiah Card 13 as part of Enter's masterplan.

Organic Metaloids

Through upgrading himself with two Messiah Cards, Enter can create Metaloids from organic beings, though they have to be in contact with an inanimate object infected with a Metavirus for it to happen.

Other Metaloids

Megazords

The Megazords (メガゾード Megazōdo) are giant robots was built by the Energy Management Center during their early research into Enetron. Unfortunately, Messiah used the Megazords' program and turned against them before being sent into subspace. Placed in storage, a Megazord can be retrieved and modified after a Metaloid's Metavirus is downloaded into it, reformatting it to possess the same attributes as its source. Once the download is complete, a Megazord is then teleported from subspace into the city to go after the Enetron tanks, siphoning the energy and transferring it to Messiah. There are different base bodies of the Megazords, of which there is the fast-moving Type Alpha (タイプα Taipu Arufa) that uses Bugzords in a fight, the brutish Type Beta (タイプβ Taipu Bēta) and the multi-purpose Type Gamma (タイプγ Taipu Ganma). There is also the Type Delta (タイプδ Taipu Deruta) model based on the BC-04 Beetle's specs that is designed to execute mass destruction. Enter and Escape have their own personal Megazords called Type Epsilon (タイプε Taipu Ipushiron), which is Enter's and Type Zeta (タイプζ Taipu Zēta), which is Escape's.[1][2] While Enter gained two Messiah Cards, he has secondary mecha called Type Omega (タイプω Taipu Omega). Many of the Megazords are deployed to fight Great Go-Buster when it entered subspace, all of them destroyed in the process.

Messiah Megazords

Messiah Megazords (メサイアメガゾード Mesaia Megazōdo) are a stronger version of the regular Vaglass Megazords when installed with the data of Messiah Metaloids. Like normal Vaglass Megazords, the Messiah Megazords use different base bodies of the Megazords, with the destructive Type Delta model added to the list.
