Early life and education

Bloom was born in Boston, Massachusetts and grew up in Connecticut and Florida.[1] The daughter of a high school guidance counselor and businessman/college professor,[1] Bloom graduated from Princeton University in 2004 with a Bachelor's Degree in architecture.[2]

In 2003, she placed third in Maxim magazine's Hometown Hotties,[3] though she has declined offers for similar shots with other magazines.[2] She became interested in acting when a fellow student at Princeton where she went to school asked her to star in a short film.[4]

Career

Vail played the role of assistant district attorney for Genoa City Heather Stevens on the CBS soap opera The Young and the Restless from 2007 to 2010, a role that she received a Daytime Emmy nomination for in 2008. She was first downgraded to recurring status during the summer of 2009, and left on her own in early 2010,[5] and her role was recast. In March 2009, she appeared on the web series Angel of Death.[6]
