The Vameș River is a tributary of the Gerului River in Romania.
The Potârnichea Dam is located on the Vameş River. It is a 5.00 m high earth dam and creates a storage lake of 80,000 m3.
The reach of the river upstream of Lake Potârnichea is also known as Valea Vulpii River
