Vangelis Raptopoulos (Greek: Βαγγέλης Ραπτόπουλος) (born 1959, Athens, Greece) is a Greek novelist. His first work In Pieces was published in 1979, at the age of 20. From 1980 to 1981 he lived in Sweden and in 1984 spent a half-year in the United States on an International Writing Program scholarship.
His first two books have been adapted for the television,[1][2][3][4] while The Bachelor was brought to the screen[5] and became a major box-office hit (more than 150.000 viewers). The Cicadas came out in English[6] and The Incredible Story of Pope Joan in Italian.[7] He has published more than 20 books.
He has worked as a consultant in Greek publishing houses, a scenario consultant on various television channels, a newspaper columnist,[8][9] a screenwriter, a producer and speaker on radio programs. His personal archive has been donated to the Gennadius Library.[10]
